Why Is the Dragon Ball Series So Popular?
Dragon Ball is one of the most popular cartoon series of all time. A lot of people like this series and there are many who are even huge fans of Dragon Ball shows. In the times when the Dragon Ball series first started, there were few people outside of Japan who liked to watch anime. But Dragon Ball was something different. Everybody knew about the saga of Goku and his friends and many watched it passionately and are still watching it.
The love for the series starts with exceptionally interesting characters. From the beginning, we are introduced to a charismatic character of Goku who had powers that were not found on that planet. This is how a whole mysticism was built around Goku’s history and all that could happen around him.
This was essentially a classic tale, which included the hero’s journey and comic elements mixed with the supernatural elements (such as the dragon balls), where fights were essential to the series’ spirit. At first, Goku’s rivals are quite easy, but as the adventure progresses, more powerful villains and heroes appear.
Although the first adventure of Dragon Ball may seem a little childish at times, Dragon Ball Z is a more serious and positive step. Here, we will meet Goku as an adult. This is unlike other animated series where the first period is the best. Here, the passage between periods generated an advancement in the plots, and enriched the narrative universe with themes and more serious motivations.
Everyone still awaits the continuation of the Dragon Ball series. Even after all these years, Dragon Ball remains the most beloved anime, even among those not devoted to this style of cartoon.
