There have been persistent rumours for quite some time now that Apple is working actively on a variety of automotive projects, one of which may eventually result in the production of an “Apple Car.” 2014 marked the beginning of the company’s participation in the project Titan, which included the research and development of a wide variety of AI-driven automation technologies and infotainment systems. It has long been speculated that all of this would eventually result in a completely automated and cutting-edge automobile that also has a futuristic design.
The rumours circulating in present times point towards a car that is entirely autonomous and needs very little or no human assistance while it is being driven. Rumours from late 2021 citing many credible sources claim that Apple may publicly unveil the automobile project in 2022 and deploy it by 2025.
According to some sources, Apple is planning to develop a vehicle that does not have a steering wheel or pedals, which is an extremely ambitious undertaking. The Apple Car may have the most technologically sophisticated component that Apple has created to this point, which would be a high-powered chip designed and manufactured by Apple. The infotainment system may incorporate a very wide touch screen in the centre, similar to that of an iPad, and it will be connected with Apple’s other products and services.
Because Apple does not currently have any expertise in the automobile manufacturing business, the company will need to engage with other companies in order to create the vehicle. Reportedly, Apple is already focusing on establishing partnerships within the automotive industry. Although it is not yet clear who Apple will collaborate with, the company has reportedly conducted talks with Hyundai as well as other businesses.
